OLD STORE STOCK - VINTAGE 1920'S BONED COTTON "STANDARD CO" CORSET / OPEN BOTTOM GIRDLE W/ GARTERS 35
 | Item #: 1004416 Click on image to see more pictures! I'm pleased to offer some of the finest old store stock pieces, this is another great find! This is made by the Standard Corset Co, which was based out of Jackson, Michigan, and known to be in the top tier of the corset manufacturers of the time. I haven't found the exact year they were founded, but this was found with other garments from corset companies that were founded in the late 1800's. I'm going to guess 1920-30's? This particular girdle/corset is style #1438, four bones in the back and three 9" in the front under the bust. It has non-adjustable straps, 4 garters, a solid finish. There are 17 hook & eye closures and an open bottom. It is sized as a 35, the length is 29" from shoulder strap to bottom (not including the garter drop). It comes in the original box, optional for shipment, let me know if you don't want it, otherwise I will send it. It is made of cotton, no stretch, no padding or underwire. The flaws noted are some very light storage marks under the right arm, see photo. Please contact me with any other questions you may have. These items come from the liquidation of a small family store that closed in the 1980's, after having operated since the early 1900's, by immigrants from Germany. I received these items from the great-great granddaughter of the store's founders, who discovered this treasure trove of never-worn new vintage lingerie sealed in boxes in her parents house, where they'd been saved since the closing of the store in the 1980's. Most of the items are believed to be from the 1930's-1940's.
