Vintage Early 1900's Black Silk (?) Mourning Funeral Dress Gown - 40" Bust.....Here I have what appears to be a mourning gown, dress or nightgown. To my best guess, the fabric is silk. I would imagine it was meant to either be a nightgown or to be worn under a dress. It has a really gorgeous crocheted neckline. There is a thin cinching tie that is threaded through the neckline and ties in the front center, along with 2 snaps for closure. The hemline, as you can see, has an overlap, which to me makes it easy to snip if you want to take the hem up and shorten it, without sewing. The flaws I see are two tears in the back, along with one or two pinholes. The tears aren't missing any fabric at all, just tears as you can see. The bust will fit up to 40", waist 48" and hips up to 55", arm openings are 19" and the length from shoulder to hem is 44".
