Victorian women were concerned about being properly dressed at all times. When doing housework during the day, they would wear a "company apron" under their everyday work apron. If someone came to the door, the everyday apron was whisked off & the company was greeted by the housewife in a dainty, clean apron! This apron is just one of those! Fine white cotton with an embroidered flower & streamers design, edged in white net lace. Apron is 19" x 21", lace is 1" wide, ties 31" long each. There are some small tears in the lace, a few holes on the left side and one tear on one of the ties, at the bottom, see photos. Completely 100% wearable regardless. It is very clean and pure white, it certainly has held up over the years! This would certainly make a unique apron for the bride at her shower, or even a baby shower - tell the story of the apron and everyone will love it!
