VICTORIAN UNDERBLOUSE FOR BODICE JACKET 34

Item #: 1000557

A late Victorian underblouse meant to be worn only under a bodice jacket. Only the collar & yoke of this garment would be visible - bodice jackets were worn buttoned closed. It has a black silk yoke & small high collar. The fitted bodice is made of lightweight brown wool - the type frequently seen as jacket/skirt/coat linings in the late 19th Century. Fastens in back w/10 pairs of hooks-&-eyes - looks to have been cut at the waist. Bust 34, length 16 inches. Condition - silk is great, all fastenings present, no rips or holes. The only flaw I saw was a small amount of underarm discoloration; otherwise, good.
