Vintage 1940's Luxury Satin Bridal Wedding Gown / Dress with Original Photo 34.....What a special treat it is to meet the bride who wore the gown! This dress comes with the original wedding photo, written on the back is the name and date of the event. For privacy, I will tell you first names only, Joe & Catherine and they were married 9/16/44. Certainly a handsome couple and they look so happy in the photo. The gown is just dripping with pearl satin, yoke has sheer net, back fastens with 27 satin buttons, 4 satin buttons on each cuff, ruffled ecru lace on the bust and hemline, strips of lace cascading down the front. I gave this a cursory ironing, the flaws noted are a few spots on the right cuff, one spot center front near the hem, some light soiling on the train near the hem and one small section of the lace needs some stitching on the train as well. Overall, considering this gown was not stored the way some women seal their gowns for years, it has held up beautifully. You will want to dry clean of course.
